QMS Engineers facilitators conducted a comprehensive workshop on “Leadership Skills” at Landmark Hotel at Tagamoa El Khamis, Cairo. The workshop was stretched over two days 6th and 7th of September 2012. The attendees, whose number exceeded 200 attendees, were the principles of a group of national, as well as, international schools. Representatives of the professorial course members were encouraged to participate. The support of Top management was exhibited through the presence of the head and owner of the group, Dr. Nermien Ismail.
Participants were asked about their definition of a leader. The discussion ignited their interest and negating the old-fashioned view of leadership that leaders are marked out for leadership from early on in their lives; and that if you are not a born leader you will never be. This highlighted the crucial difference between Assigned leadership and Emergent leadership.
The participants explored during this workshop common leadership styles and identified situations where these styles may be effective with their staff.
Towards the end of the workshop, the participants were encouraged to look at each element in more detail and examine how each can grow as a leader each in his field of expertise.
