QMS Engineers Launches its Organizational Well-Being Program

Organizational wellbeing refers to a company's ability to create and maintain a culture where employees can fulfill their potential and the company can profitably fulfill its purpose.

“The growing need to address relational dysfunctions, and possibly toxic work environments leading to demoralization, high rates of burnout, stress, and lowered productivity echoed our desire to develop the organizational well-being initiative, which consists in sharing knowledge through our workshops dedicated to mental fitness, and through our one-on one counselling sessions conducted within organizations,” ensured Dr. Desiree Khoury, the Managing Director of QMS Engineers.

The aim of this program is to support organizations’ employees through stressful times. Paying attention to employee’s stress levels is vital, while keeping in mind that everyone handles stress differently.

Each year, one in five adults will experience mental illness. Yet only one in three who need help will get it. As a result, many people will either miss work or will get less done on the job. The latter is known as presenteeism, and that is, when people go to work while struggling with physical or mental health issues. This is why focusing on workplace mental health is so important for organizations.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that depression and anxiety cost the global economy $1 trillion per year in lost productivity. But WHO also found that for every $1 spent on treating common mental health concerns, there is a return of $4 in improved health and productivity.

Types of support can range from providing psycho education workshops, to teaching techniques for managing stress, to treating invisible disabilities such as anxiety and depression during collective or one-on-one sessions.
